Economic Development Staff Roster

The City of Oakland and its private sector partners offer a full range of assistance and resources to help establish and grow a business in our community. The Community and Economic Development Agency acts as a conduit to encourage private investment and bring in new businesses.

The Business Development Office assists in establishing, locating, expanding and growing businesses. The office maintains a roster of available space for lease or purchase and can help identify the ideal location for your business.

The City of Oakland realizes that it is an ongoing challenge to sustain and grow your business. That is why the Business Development Office has compiled a list of cost-effective resources to help business owners increase sales and reduce costs. Commercial Lending and Small Business Services

The City of Oakland supports the growth of its entrepreneur and small business community by providing business skills training, technical support and lending referrals to contracted services providers. The City contracts with OBDC Small Business Finance to lend and service loans. Through these targeted support services contracts, the Commercial Lending and Small Business Services Office assist in the development of sound growth strategies, employee recruitment and lending services.
