The Neighborhood Project Initiative (NPI) program is an annual community grant program that funds one-time, small-scale, community-initiated physical improvement projects that benefit the community and are located within the redevelopment project area boundaries. The program is designed to support existing blight reduction and beautification efforts in the redevelopment project area and to encourage community participation in the revitalization of North Oakland. The maximum grant award per project is $75,000. The program grants will be awarded on an annual basis with a new grant cycle starting each spring.
Grant applications for the 2008 grant cycle were due by Friday, July 25, 2008. Grant awards will be announced in September. A copy of the program brochure can be downloaded from the link below. Information about grant awards from previous cycles is also available.
